Javi turns 28 and Thanksgiving in Lleida

Last weekend, we were able to celebrate Javi's birthday and Thanksgiving. He turned 28 on Dec. 1st, but all of his good friends and significant others from Badalona/Barcelona were able to come watch his game on Friday, the 28th, and stay the night. 7 of them came and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Javi's team lost because his coach is a dumbass (sorry, this is just my opinion on Spanish coaches now), but we did go to dinner and went out to celebrate his birthday at least. His friends that came are friends from when he was in elementary school so they have been buddies for a long time, and it is always a fun time. Saturday morning we woke up, I made some pancakes for everyone, played some wii, then went to eat tapas for lunch, and after everyone headed home. They bought Javi a GPS for his birthday so now he won't get lost when he drives anywhere. Not that any of you know this, but Javi isn't the best when it comes to directions!!

On Sunday, two of my friends from the English academy-Francesca 'Chiska' and Anneli- came over to our place with their significant others to celebrate Thanksgiving. I was in charge of making the turkey, stuffing, putting the cranberries in a bowl, and pumpkin pie, while they made the green beans, yams, whipped cream, and mashed potatoes. All the food turned out great and this year we didn't have a 25 lb turkey so 1. it actually fit into the oven, and 2. Cooked a lot faster. Anneli brought her daughter Claudia along who had a lot of fun as well. She decided to draw a picture with a green, permanent marker on our wall so we now have a little stain there (because Javi rubbed it out with rubbing alcohol), but oh well!! It was also a good thing I have a share of stuffed animals, because Claudia was entertained by all of my singing, noise-making stuffed animals! Fun was had by all, but it was a long weekend and I was exhausted after everyone left!
